Twenty-one people were arrested Friday night in Petaluma’s latest DUI/driver’s license checkpoints, police say.

Of the total of 1,021 drivers screened at two checkpoints — Old Redwood Highway at North McDowell Boulevard Extension and Petaluma Boulevard South near K Street — three were arrested on suspicion of DUI, nine on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, eight on driving without ever having been issued a license and one on transporting marijuana for sale. Three drivers were cited for having an expired driver’s license.

A total of 14 vehicles were towed, and nine were impounded for 30 days from suspended drivers and unlicensed drivers.
