The average price of regular gasoline fell overnight in Santa Rosa to less than $4 a gallon but still higher than the statewide average.

AAA reported Friday that the average Santa Rosa price was $3.997, down from Thursday’s $4.016. But, according to gasbuddy.com, you can gas for as low as $3.89 at the Arco stations at Fourth Street and Brookwood Avenue and at Cleveland and College avenues and at the Santa Rosa Costco.

The lowest average price in a California metro area surveyed by AAA was Yuba City at $3.816. The highest was San Luis Obispo at $4.05.

The statewide average was $3.958. It dropped below $4 earlier this week.
