The CHP plans two DUI/license checkpoints tonight — one in the Sonoma Valley and the other in unincorporated Santa Rosa.

A third checkpoint will be held Saturday night. That checkpoint and the CHP one near Santa Rosa are part of the Sonoma County Avoid the 13 DUI Task Force’s extra enforcement this weekend, which will include DUI saturation patrols countywide.

The Sonoma Valley checkpoint will be 6 p.m. to midnight while the Santa Rosa-area one will be 5 to 11:30 p.m. As is typical, the specific locations of all three checkpoints haven’t been announced.

So, “unincorporated santa rosa” probly means Sebastopol road and I’m sure that “Sonoma Valley” means highway 12 entering Santa Rosa in Rincon Valley.

If i have time I will post location after i see one. Will all others please do the same?

We should have a running forum of witness reports of DUI checkpoints in Sonoma County. Not for the purposes of evading them or driving while intoxicated obviously, just to allow people to be prepared.

The only people that will be informed of where they are located in advance is people who listen to the local Spanish radio station. You can also look for the people holding signs written in Spanish warning drivers at least a block prior to the checkpoints, HONEST!

@Jonathan—who drives a 2,000 pound vehicle anymore, with all the SUVs on the road? Even my “mini” van is over 6,000 pounds curbside and empty…..

@billie THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WILL BE INFORMED ARE THE OWNERS OF THE BUSINESSES, WHERE THIS CHECKPOINTS TAKE PLACE. HOW “BUT WILL THEY KNOW?” YOU MAY WONDER AS YOU PLAY WITH MOM’S IPAD.
WELL BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT MAKE A SINGLE DOLLAR THAT NIGHT. YES CHECKPOINTS KILL SMALL BUSINESSES. SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE THEM IN THE SAME GENERAL AREA EVERYTIME. AND YES THAT GENERAL AREA BEING SEBASTOPOL RD. WHERE THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS HAVE NO VOICE IN THE CITI COUNSEL.

Call any local cab company. They know where
The checkpoints are and will tell you if you ask.
Checkpoints are a violation of our constitutional
Rights. Don’t get me wrong I am totally opposed to drinking and driving.
I hate to see us give up another right. I am all for prosecuting drunk drivers to the fullest extent of the law. Simply my opinion.
