Last year's worst road in Sonoma County was Irwin Lane, which is only 1.6 miles long
from Highway 12 north to Hall Road west of Santa Rosa but is full of potholes
and patches. Click to enlarge. Road Warrior photo

It’s time for the Road Warrior’s second-annual contest for readers to vote for the worst road in Sonoma County.

Vote by leaving a comment below telling us what that worst road is, or a particular stretch of that road, and explain why it’s so bad. It’s fine to list more than one, but only the first one named will be counted. Please vote only once.

All roads are eligible, except for Irwin Lane, which was last year’s winner — or, perhaps a better description, the loser. Irwin Lane, by the way, continues to waste away with new potholes and new patches. The county road department, responsible for Irwin, had said its budget crisis would prevent it from fixing up Irwin.

You have a week or so to vote, and then I’ll report the winner and runners-up. And I’ll call the city/county road department in charge of the worst road and check to see what it plans to do about the road.
