Here’s a question from a Road Warrior reader:

I wonder if you can get insight as to when the traffic lights are going to be activated at the intersection of Vine Hill at 116. As a resident and daily user of that stretch, it’s become even more perilous than before with the recent widening of the road, the various cones, etc. The lay of the road, the sun exposure makes crossing it even in former times tricky but I’ve seen more than usual close calls at this intersection since the roadwork has begun. A traffic light is going to help and hope that budgetary woes aren’t slowing the activation of it. Zee

Caltrans spokesman Robert Haus had the answer, saying the traffic light should be operational soon and Caltrans is working out the final details with PG&E.
