St. Helena’s “Tunnel of Elms” is getting spruced up, and that means some traffic delays.

Caltrans said it’ll have crews trimming dead and overhanging tree branches along a 1,400-foot stretch of Highway 29 next to Beringer Winery in St. Helena.

The work, weather permitting, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. One-way traffic control will be in effect, so expect some delays.

Caltrans said crews also will inspect the trees for disease and damage but emphasized that no trees will be cut down.
