A few weeks ago, we asked if you had any questions for Caltrans. We got answers — CLICK HERE — to several right away, but Caltrans needed some time to track down other answers. Here are the questions from readers and the answers this week from Caltrans spokesman Robert Haus:

Question: I’m wondering if they are going to raise the Highway 101 road bed at the Sonoma-Marin County line to help prevent future flooding. S.

The answer: One of the Marin-Sonoma Narrows projects will realign and raise the roadway at the county line.  Right now, the project is scheduled to begin in summer 2015.

Question: Please ask them what the hold up is on the Verizon wireless project to install fiber cable along Highway 1 to The Sea Ranch? Work has been suspended due to Caltrans permit issues. Susan

The answer: The issues are resolved, and the project is expected to get under way in July. Work is scheduled to finish in September.

Question: When will the trees be trimmed so you can see if cars are coming on the westbound 12 to northbound 101 ramp? Steven

The answer: Our crews trimmed these trees last week.

I live in Railroad Square Area and I want to know why the new 6th street project has such bad planning. The city is adding another stop light at 6th and David street witch will make a larger bottleneck for everyone coming off the Freeway. We have no law enforcement at all in Railroad Square anymore so I see a lot of road rage and crashes in my neighborhood. I think the 6th street project is a big waste of money and time.
