Caltrans’ continuing work on remodeling Petaluma’s East Washington Street interchange with Highway 101 will forced the complete closure of the freeway twice this Sunday.

Each closure is scheduled to last 15 minutes, with the first starting at 6:15 a.m. and the second at 6:45 a.m., Caltrans said. The CHP will block both north and southbound lanes just north of East Washington.

The closures will allow PG&E crews to pull new transmission lines across the highway. PG&E spokesman Jason King said the Caltrans project is forcing the removal of four power poles and moving of the power lines.
