I was sitting at that intersection last night, waiting to turn from left SR Ave. & go up over the over pass onto Hearn. % vehicles ran that red light; coming from Hearn & tirning left onto SR Ave. Thankfully, everyone who was waiting for the green, knew to wait a bit after their light turned. Who knew 5:57pm was a dangerous time to be in that area!

Targeting one intersection sounds fine but in Reality, People don't slow down, they are too busy with their Phones, Texting, Radio or just don't care about anyone but Number One to see what they are doing. Road Rage is at a new all time high in California and teens with Drivers Licenses are even more likely to race around to impress their friends.... my neighbor was hit recently while getting her Mail, when she called the Police, then after the incident the suspects friends Egged her House because she called the Police.

their is another intersection police need to keep eye on. intersection of Colgan Ave. if police put unmarked police car long with marked police car(so they can go after idiot's that run red light) they can stop more then enough stupid driver who run red light's to pay for their pay and have enough leftover to actually install working safety camera on the light post in the intersection.

Here's a question for your CHP contributors...

When approaching a stop-sign on a road that has a white 'road edge' line (sometimes referred to as a bicycle lane) to right of the travelling lane, is it legal cross the line and use the margin as a right-turn lane in order to pass other cars that waiting their turn at the stop-sign? I see this occur frequently and it seems wrong.

A good example is southbound Adobe Road at Washington Street in Petaluma where the right border line ends at the stop line.

I could not find a reference to this in the CA Drivers Handbook, other than as regards Bicycle Lanes stating "When you are making a right turn and are within 200 feet of the corner or other driveway entrance, you must enter the bicycle lane only after ensuring there is no bicycle traffic, and then make the turn. Do not drive in the bicycle lane at any other time."

It may be off topic, however did anyone notice that on east Washington in Petaluma they are planting flowers and trees and the road isn't finished! It's true the cones are still out, the road has yet to be asphalted big holes on westbound side. But wow if they are going to, NOT work on the road I guess they figure to make it pretty.
Does this seem off to anyone else?
