Brush clearing, potholing, roadside mowing, center-line striping, paving and a little chip and seal.

If the midweek rainstorm doesn’t interfere, here are the Sonoma County roadwork projects to be aware of the week of March 18-22, according to Rob Silva, Sonoma County Road Department operations manager:

Martinelli Road near Guerneville: Cal Fire will assist Guerneville crews with brush clearing Tuesday and Wednesday. Other work in that area includes  potholing and roadside mowing.

Blank Road near Cotati: Cal Fire will assist Cotati crews with brush clearing Tuesday and Wednesday. Other work in that area includes  potholing and roadside mowing.

Olivet Road: Healdsburg crew will continue grinding and paving work, weather permitting. Traffic will be subject to one lane controls.

Adobe Canyon Road near Kenwood: Sonoma crew will do roadside mowing and brushing in preparation of summer chip seal.

Trinity Road in Sonoma Valley: A striping contractor will replace the center line this week. Traffic maintenance crews also will do sign and sight market repair.

King Ridge and  Hauser Bridge roads near Annapolis: Annapolis crew will continue digging out soft spots and asphalt patching this week, again weather permitting.

Cazadero Highway: The bridge crew will be doing a viaduct repair and guard rail repairs.

Extra traffic enforcement

Also this week, Santa Rosa police will monitor one of the city’s most collision-prone intersections, Guerneville Road at Marlow Road, which  last year was tied for fourth place with 9 collisions.

As part of a weekly Monday through Friday special enforcement program, Officer Jeff Adams says officers particularly will be looking for drivers not wearing seat belts, who are illegally using cellphones, are speeding, running red lights or committing lane violations.

Each week, the officers pick one of the city’s top 25 collision-troubled intersections to monitor.
