Here’s the latest information about road construction projects and lane closures throughout Sonoma County during the week of April 1-5, courtesy of Rob Silva, roads division manager for Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works. It’s followed by a roundup of CalTrans projects throughout the North Coast:

SONOMA COUNTY

The Cotati crew will resume work today on the Stony Point Road culvert, replacing the second section of 80 feet.

The Bridge crew will continue work this week replacing timber spans on the Old Monte Rio Rodd viaduct bridge – the road remains closed for this project

On Tuesday and Wednesday, CDF crews will be assisting the Guerneville road crew with brush removal along Martinelli Road west of Forestville, and Cotati will be working with CDF crews on Blank Road.

Healdsburg crew has crack sealing scheduled for this week on Olivet Road, but Monday will respond to minor rock slides on Geysers and Pine Flat roads due to rain. Work on Olivet will remain weather dependant.

Sonoma crew will be brushing and cutting back tree limbs on Adobe Canyon Road.

The Annapolis crew will be digging soft spots and patching on Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road this week when weather permits, and the Traffic crew will be doing sign maintenance throughout the county.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY

Route 36 – FHWA of Lakewood, Colorado has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for geotechnical study work from the South Fork Van Duzen River Bridge to the William J. C. Dinsmore Memorial Bridge through Saturday, March 30. Work hours are 7AM to 5PM. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Route 96 – A project to build a retaining wall 0.5 mile south of Bluff Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Engineered Soil Repairs, Inc. of Walnut Creek.

Route 101 – PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work southbound from B Street to Sixth Street in Eureka beginning Thursday, April 4. Nighttime work hours are 10PM to 5AM. Southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 101 – AT&T of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from V Street to Jacobs Avenue through Sunday, March 31. Work hours are 8AM to 12 noon. A northbound shoulder closure will be in effect, and northbound traffic will be intermittently restricted to one lane. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 101 – Guardrail work from just north of the Eureka Slough Bridge to the Arcata Overhead Bridge will begin Tuesday, April 2. Nighttime work hours are 7PM to 7AM, Tuesday through Friday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Mercer Fraser Company of Eureka.

Route 211 – DCI Builders of Ferndale has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from Howard Street to Arlington Avenue in Ferndale beginning Monday, April 1. Work hours are 8AM to 3PM, weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Route 254 – PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work near Holmes Flat Road on Friday, March 29. Work hours are 9:30AM to 11:30AM. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
