The state gas tax rises today by 3.5 cents a gallon, which means you’ll now be paying the nation’s highest tax at 72 cents a gallon. Read Clark Mason’s story about it HERE.

Also today, 400,000 BART commuters will be finding other ways to work today as members of Service Employees International Union Local 1021 and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1555 strike. Contract negotiations are stalled over salary, pensions, health care and safety issues. Read more about it HERE and HERE.

I drove to SFO from Santa Rosa this morning ~7am and came back ~9am. It was pretty light going both ways.

the bart strike has no impact on me at all.
the lack of public transportation in the north bay makes a strike a non-issue.

the rise in gas price on the other hand does.

Thank you for your feedback. There’s nothing as valuable as eyes on the road.

This morning, my Golden Gate Transit bus from Petaluma got here a few minutes earlier than usual! I also didn’t mind the shortened line at Starbucks! Am hoping that the commute home in unaffected as well.
