SMART crews will be working on Santa Rosa tracks Wednesday, Sept. 11, requiring brief road closures throughout the day.

SMART spokesman Matt Stevens said a rail plow will be working on the tracks between Guerneville Road and Railroad Square, laying fiber optic conduit that will be used for communication purposes. SMART passenger service is scheduled to begin in 2016.

Expect brief closures of a few minutes at most at Guerneville Road and College Avenue, Stevens said.
