The week of Nov. 18, Santa Rosa police will be monitoring one of the city’s most collision-prone intersections, Highway 12 at Jack London Drive, which  last year was tied for sixth place with seven collisions.

As part of a weekly Monday through Friday special enforcement program, Officer Jeff Adams says officers particularly will be looking for drivers not wearing seat belts, who are illegally using cellphones, are speeding, running red lights or committing lane violations.

Each week, the officers pick one of the city’s top 25 collision-troubled intersections to monitor.

Perfect place for a roundabout if you want westbound traffic backed up to Oakmont and eastbound traffic backed up to Farmer’s Lane.

A roundabout would be a literal nightmare here, unless the ol’ hwy 12 bypass was built…

A connection between Montgomery Dr and 12 at Calistoga Road, Jack London, or Middle Rincon would help, but little chance of that whimsical idea…
