Wilfred Avenue will open Friday, Nov. 1.

The newly widened Wilfred Avenue in Rohnert Park is ready to go, with a VIP Ribbon Cutting Monday and plans to open it to the public on Friday, Nov. 1. It’s the key feeder street to the new Graton Casino & Resort, which has its own VIP opening Nov. 1 before welcoming the general public on Nov. 5. On Highway 101, construction continues at the Airport Blvd. interchange north of Santa Rosa and between Petaluma and Novato as part of the Marin-Sonoma Narrows project. Read posts about them here and here.

Sonoma County

County road maintenance crews are crack sealing Faught Road in Wikiup Monday. It was planned to start last week but was delayed due to equipment failure. The crack sealing is being done on the improved section of Faught Road from Old Redwood Hwy. to just beyond Carriage Lane. Midweek, the crack seal crew will move to Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road.

Cal Fire crews will be doing staff training this week. Expect crews to be on Burnside Road and Vine Hill School Road Wednesday only.

The Bridge crew is finishing up culvert replacements in Camp Meeker on Van Ness Ave., Mission St. and Montgomery St. this week, along with starting guard rail repairs at various locations throughout the county.

The traffic paint and sign crew is continuing stenciling at intersections, this week in the Larkfield/Wikiup area, and performing  storm drain inspections and labeling in and around the Sonoma area.

For contract pavement projects, Doran Beach and Doran Park Roads are now open to moving lane closures for striping. Road reconstruction and paving was completed late last Friday in time to open the park to campers and day use for the weekend. Striping work should begin midweek, traffic delays will be minor.

Striping can also be expected this week on the newly paved sections of Eastside Road from Windsor River Road to Wohler Road, and Old Redwood Hwy. from Cotati to Petaluma.

Paving work will be done this week on Arnold Drive at the Agua Caliente road roundabout, and on Westside Road the concrete section west of Healdsburg will receive a 2-inch overlay this week. Paving work will begin at 8 a.m. due to colder morning weather, and will last until around 6 p.m. daily, with up to 20 minute delays.

Porter Creek Road has ongoing bridge construction this week west of Franz Valley Road. Expect up to 20 minute delays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

On Calistoga Road, the paving contractor will be doing guard rail construction from Porter Creek Road to Plum Ranch Road, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, with one lane traffic controls and up to 20 minute delays.

Lastly, both Cal Pine and PG&E  have completed work that affected traffic along the Cloverdale side of Geysers Road. Posted sign notification will be removed today, and traffic is returned to normal.

Lake County

Route 53 (2.6/7.4) ‐ Highway widening and rehabilitation from Crawford Avenue to the junction of Routes 20/53 will continue.  Work hours are 7AM to 5PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Teichert Construction of Davis.

Route 175 (24.0/27.8) ‐ AT&T of Santa Rosa has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs from Anderson Springs Road to Santa Clara Street through Friday, October 25.  Work hours are 7AM to 4PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Mendocino County

Route 1 (3.2/47.5) ‐ Guardrail repairs at various locations from Pirates Drive to Little River Airport Road will continue.  Work hours are 7AM to 7PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Coral Construction of Wilsonville.

Route 1 (33.4/33.9) ‐ Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue.  One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Golden State Bridge, Incorporated of Martinez.

Route 1 (92.6/93.0) ‐ Replacement of a culvert with a bridge at Dunn Creek will continue.  One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Shasta Construction of Redding.

Route 101 (4.5/5.0) ‐ Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock).  Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 128 (20.1) ‐ Navarro Ranch of Philo has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit to install a driveway near Philo Greenwood Road through Friday, October 25.  Work hours are 8AM to 4PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 128 (33.6) ‐ Nicholette Ausschnitt of Yorkville has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit to pave about 0.4 mile west of the Short Creek Bridge beginning Friday, October 25.  Work hours are 8AM to 4PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 222 (1.3/1.6) ‐ AT&T of Fort Bragg has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs from Ruddick Cunningham Road to Sanford Ranch Road beginning Monday, October 28.  Work hours are 8AM to 4PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 253 (4.3/13.3) ‐ Guardrail repairs at various locations from cattle Pass to Butler Ranch will continue on Monday, October 28.  Work hours are 7AM to 5PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Coral Construction of Wilsonville.

Del Norte County

Route 101 (15.2/15.4) ‐ Guardrail work 1.5 miles north of Rudisill Road will continue on Friday, October 25. Work hours are 7AM to 7PM. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ CalEx of Newhall.

Route 197 (0.0/1.3) ‐ Pacific Power of Crescent City has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from the Junction with Route 199 to Simpson Park Drive beginning Monday, October 28. Work hours are 8AM to 4:30PM, weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Humboldt County

Route 36 (37.7/38.6) ‐ Federal Highway Administration of Lakewood, CO has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for drainage work from Burr Valley Road to 1.0 mile east of Burr Valley Road on Friday, October 25. Work hours are 7:30AM to 5:30PM. One-way traffic control in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Route 96 (13.2/16.8) ‐ Paving from the Hostler Creek Bridge to the Rock Chute Viaduct will continue. Work hours are 7AM to 7PM, weekdays. One-way traffic control in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Tidewater Contractors, Incorporated.

Route 96 (20.5/21.0) ‐ PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from 2.1 to 2.6 miles south of the junction with Route 169 on Monday, October 28. Work hours are 10AM to 9PM. One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 101 (15.5) ‐ Drainage work 1.2 miles north of the Elmer Hurlbut Memorial Bridge will continue.  Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 101 (63.6/64.3) ‐ Ramp paving at the Fernbridge/Ferndale Exit (Exit 692) will continue. Work hours are 7AM to 6PM, weekdays. There will be intermittent full ramp closures during work hours. No two consecutive onramps or offramps will be closed at the same time. Motorists will be advised to seek an alternate route.

Route 101 (79.7/87.8) ‐ A paving project from Eureka Slough Bridge to Arcata Overhead Bridge will continue.  Nighttime work hours are 7PM to 7AM, Sunday night through Friday morning. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Motorists are advised to watch for bicyclists. There will be intermittent full ramp closures during nighttime work hours at the Route 255/Arcata/Sunny Brea Exit (Exit 713), 14th Street Exit (Exit 714A), and Sunset Avenue Exit (Exit 714/714B). No two consecutive onramps or offramps will be closed at the same time. Motorists will be advised to seek an alternate route, and may experience minor delays. Contractor ‐ Mercer Fraser Company of Eureka.

Route 211 (74.3/79.2) ‐ Striping from Market Street to the Junction 101/211 Separation Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7AM to 7PM, weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. There will be intermittent full ramp closures at the junction with Route 101 during work hours. No two consecutive onramps or offramps will be closed at the same time. Motorists will be advised to seek an alternate route.

Route 254 (10.4/12.3) ‐ Striping from the Elk Creek Bridge to Route 101-Myers Flat Separation will continue. Work hours are 7AM to 7PM, weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays

Route 255 (0.2/1.8) ‐ Bridge deck repairs at the Meyer Bistrin, Carl L. Christensen, and Richard R. Denbo Memorial Samoa Bridges will continue. Work hours are 6AM to 3PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 299 (1.5/41.6) ‐ Guardrail work at various locations from just west of the Thomas L. DeVore Memorial Bridge to just west of Martin Road will continue. Work hours are 5AM to 8PM, weekdays.  On two-lane sections of highway one-way traffic control will be in effect, otherwise traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel.
