Rohnert Park

Eastside Trunk Sewer work will occur on Avram Avenue beginning in the intersection of Avram Avenue and Commerce Boulevard starting Monday, November 25, 2013, at 8 am. A detour will be set up directing eastbound traffic from Avram Avenue to Arlen Drive and Enterprise Drive around to Santa Alicia Drive. Westbound traffic on Arlen Drive will be open. Signs will be posted at all intersections directing traffic to Arlen Drive and Santa Alicia Drive.

Two-way flagging is expected to occur on Commerce Boulevard on Monday and Tuesday and on Santa Alicia Drive on Monday through Wednesday.

Traffic controls will be in place between 8 am and 4:30 pm daily Monday through Wednesday. No work is expected to occur Thursday or Friday. Alternate routes are advised. Please drive carefully and obey all flaggers.

Cotati

After six months of construction, the Caltrans safety improvements on Highway 116 and Madrone Avenue have been completed. The $690,000 project added 350-foot-long left-turn pockets in each direction of Highway116 at Madrone Avenue, and a 5-foot shoulder on the intersection’s south side. This safety improvement project will improve access to Madrone from Highway 116.

A project completion ceremony will take place on Thursday December 5, 2013 at 11:00AM at Madrone Avenue and Derby Lane off of Highway 116. Mayor Mark Landman stated “This is a clear benefit for our citizens, one our community has been hoping to see accomplished. We would like to thank Caltrans for funding and carrying out this project for Cotati.”

Sonoma County

The McCabe Fire in the Geysers area continues to burn and effect traffic in that area – the Cal Fire Incident web site updated this morning lists the area burned at 3,505 acres and 75% contained. Full containment is expected on Wednesday Nov 27. Road closures in the area include Cloverdale – Geysers Rd at Squaw Creek Rd and Healdsburg – Geysers Rd at Mercuryville.

Road maintenance crews this week will continue crack sealing on Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Rd, continue with removal of the Asti summer crossing along Washington School Rd, and assisting Cal Fire crews, if available with roadside brush removal along Burnside Rd and Vine Hill Rd Tuesday and Wednesday. The Bridge crew will be repairing a retaining wall on Monte Vista Terrace in Monte Rio.

Construction projects affecting traffic included continued work at the Porter Creek Rd Bridge replacement project, with delays up to 20 minutes from 7 am to 7 pm daily, and the Arnold Dr Road Roundabout project at Agua Caliente will have only minimal traffic impacts with various landscaping work being done.

This Tuesday we will be opening and re-staffing the Annapolis Road yard for the winter season. All road maintenance crews will be returning to our winter seasonal 5 day/8 hour work schedule for storm coverage, also effective this Tuesday.

Lake County

Route 53 (2.9/7.4) ‐ Highway widening and rehabilitation from 40th Avenue to the junction of Routes 20/53 will continue.  Work hours are 7AM to 5PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Teichert Construction of Davis.  LC#C53AA

Route 1 (33.4/33.9) ‐ Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue.  One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  Contractor ‐ Golden State Bridge, Incorporated of Martinez.  LC#C1AA

Route 101 (4.5/5.0) ‐ Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock).  Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.  LC#M101GA

Route 128 (19.5/22.0) ‐ PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for tree trimming from 0.5 mile east of Monte Bloyd Road to 0.6 mile west of Philo through Friday, November 22.  Work hours are 7AM to 4PM, weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.  LC#P128EA

Route 101 (60.4) The City of Fortuna has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit to close the northbound and southbound 12th Streets ramps (Exit 688) to facilitate traffic control during the Color Me Humboldt event on Sunday, November 24 from 8AM to 12 noon. Route 101 (79.7/87.8) ‐ A paving project from Eureka Slough Bridge to Arcata Overhead Bridge will continue.  Nighttime work hours are 7PM to 7AM, Sunday night through Friday morning. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns, and are advised to watch for bicyclists. There will be intermittent full ramp closures during nighttime work hours at the South G Street (Exit 712), Route 255/Arcata/Sunny Brea Exit (Exit 713), 14th Street Exit (Exit 714A), and Sunset Avenue Exit (Exit 714/714B). No two consecutive onramps or offramps will be closed at the same time.
