Laughlin Road, just south of Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport, seems like a nifty shortcut between Airport Boulevard and River Road. It would be, if not for a tight curve and one-lane bridge over Mark West Creek. The bridge constantly ensnares large trucks — two had to be extricated this month.

The county plans to build a new bridge starting in 2017. Read this story by James Lanaras, our Windsor correspondent, for more on the Laughlin bridge.
