Here are the ongoing road projects in Sonoma and Mendocino counties:

Sonoma County:

An early morning accident on Saturday damaged a guard rail on Occidental Road between High School Road and Highway 116. A bridge crew will be making repairs today.

On the Porter Creek Rd Bridge replacement project, steel girders are to be set into place today. Today, traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for placement of the girders. Up to 30 minute delays can be expected while equipment is operating in the roadway.

The bridge crew will continue work this week placing a retaining wall along Fort Ross Road, between Highway 1 and Seaview Road. Up to 30 minute delays can be expected. Besides today’s guardrail repair on Occidental Road, additional guardrail work is scheduled later this week on Mecham Road and Stony Point Road.

Cal Fire crews will be assisting road crews with roadside brush and vegetation removal along Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road and Burnside Road Tuesday and Wednesday this week. One lane traffic controls will be in place at both work locations.

Mendocino County:

Route 1 ‐ PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs just south of Lake Street on Jan. 21.  Work hours are 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 1 ‐ PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs just south of Manchester through Jan. 22.  Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 1 ‐ Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue.  One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 1 ‐ Replacement of a culvert with a bridge at Dunn Creek will continue.  One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 101 ‐ Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock).  Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 101 ‐ Bridge rehabilitation at the “green” Russian River Bridge will continue.  Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays.  One way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

Route 101 ‐ Striping near from the South Ukiah Overhead began Jan. 20.  Work hours are 7 p.m. to noon, weekdays.  Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel.  Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Route 101 ‐ PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for tree trimming from 1.2 miles south of the junction of Routes 1/101 to just south of Confusion Hill beginning Monday, January 20.  Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays.  One-way traffic control will be in effect.  Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
