2 DUI checkpoints Friday in Petaluma

Sonoma County’s Avoid the 13 anti-DUI task force plans two DUI/license checkpoints on Friday night in Petaluma. The locations aren’t being disclosed by the task force, in which all of the county’s police agencies participate, but they’ll be from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday. CHP cracking down on naughty Christmas drivers

Every available CHP officer, including those in Sonoma County, will be on patrol for the long Christmas holiday weekend, looking particularly for drunken drivers. Called the “Maximum Enforcement Period,” it’s one of several the CHP holds during the year to get drunks off the road during certain holidays and to try to ensure everyone gets to their home or relative’s home safely. Sonoma County police officers for 19 days will be cracking down on DUI drivers. Police in Sonoma County plan three DUI/license checkpoints this weekend. Santa Rosa officers will run a checkpoint from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday at a location police won’t disclose. 18-day DUI crackdown under way in Sonoma County

Sonoma County police agencies on Friday launch an 18-day campaign to crack down on drunken drivers. The county’s Avoid the 13 task force, which includes all police agencies in the county, will hold DUI/license checkpoints, conduct DUI warrant sweeps and DUI probation checks and send out officers on patrols looking for DUIs. Police across Sonoma County on Saturday will be sending out extra officers targeting DUI drivers on Cinco de Mayo.
