County lists roads to be repaired, repaved in spring, summer

  About 50 miles of Sonoma County-maintained roads are on track to get some type of major repairs next spring and summer. The roads include 14 that got the headlines last week when the county Board of Supervisors approved $6.5 million for that work, but there are several more, including some that have needed help for years. Sonoma County crews will be out doing road work this week and some minor traffic delays are possible: –Arnold Drive, Monday through Thursday, between Madrone and Sobre Vista roads south of Glen Ellen. Crews will grind out damaged pavement and put down new new asphalt. Heads up if you’re going out on Bennett Valley Road or Bodega Highway:The Sonoma County roads department is working on both roads. Crews are doing shoulder work Friday and Saturday after having finished up repaving work on Bennett Valley Road. The project is from Grange Road to Santa Rosa. Sonoma County plans to smooth out the bumps and holes along four roads this month through paving projects. Starting Monday and lasting about three months, Highway 1 will be down to one lane 24/7 as Caltrans builds a retaining wall near Bodega Bay. Although Caltrans vows to keep traffic delays to a minimum, it’s pretty likely that during summer weekends the backup could get ugly, so be prepared.
