Road closures on Petaluma, Sonoma, county roads

A few isolated road closures will join the list of ongoing road projects throughout Sonoma County, including a two-night closure at the Lakeville Highway/101 intersection in Petaluma, a Sunday morning closure in Sonoma and along the Carneros Highway to Napa, a few chip seal projects and extra police attention on Santa Rosa’s most collision-prone intersection. Traffic delays this week on Highways 29, 101, 128

Caltrans plans road work this week on Highways 29, 101 and 128, and drivers can expect some traffic delays. –Highway 29, from Highway 128 in Calistoga to two-tenths of a mile north of Silverado Trail, for grinding out bad sections of road and replacing with fresh pavement. Paving this week on Porter Creek Road

It’s a key route between northern Santa Rosa and Calistoga. It’s bumpy, full of potholes but it’s about to be improved. Sonoma County roads crews will be out this week grinding out damaged sections of Porter Creek Road and repaving them. Hwy. 128 bridges completed

Caltrans announced Wednesday completion of two new bridges on Highway 128 between Healdsburg and Calistoga, ending a headache for drivers who used that road. The Redwood and Maacama Creek bridges, which had been under construction since summer 2010, are wider than the bridges they replaced. Total cost for both new bridges was $7 million. Hwy. 29 roadwork to slow traffic

Caltrans this week started a three-week project to dig out and replace stretches of pavement on Highway 29 in Calistoga and up over Mount St. Helena, and you can expect traffic delays. The work will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, except for Memorial Day, and will go from the intersection with Silverado Trail north to the Lake County line.
