Roads Report: Work sites and lane closures

Night closures in Petaluma on Highway 101 at the Old Redwood Highway are scheduled this week. In Sonoma County, road crews are busy with chip seal, paving and striping jobs this week, in addition to building guard rails on Fulton Road and continuing the bridge building on Porter Creek Road. Road closures on Petaluma, Sonoma, county roads

A few isolated road closures will join the list of ongoing road projects throughout Sonoma County, including a two-night closure at the Lakeville Highway/101 intersection in Petaluma, a Sunday morning closure in Sonoma and along the Carneros Highway to Napa, a few chip seal projects and extra police attention on Santa Rosa’s most collision-prone intersection. Hwy. 29 fix will have to wait

Caltrans is giving up on its effort to fix a stretch of Highway 29 in Lake County until summer when it will spend millions to pave the road. Spokesman Phil Frisbie Jr. said that after rainstorms and then cold weather canceled two efforts to smooth out a 1,000-foot long stretch of Highway 29 near Hidden Valley with grinding, Caltrans officials dropped the plan entirely.
