Here’s a question from a reader: Are you able to find out when “they” intend to take the signals off of timers in the Rohnert Park construction area?  Meaning, those signals that were recently replaced (or created with the new Golf Course undercrossing). If you’re driving in Rohnert Park, you might want to avoid doing so from 2 to 4 p.m., watch out on Thursdays and be extra careful at Rohnert Park Expressway at Redwood and at State Farm drives. The latest traffic collision analysis, which covers July to December 2011, from the city’s Department of Public Safety shows that the number of collisions generally has dropped since 2004 in the last half of those years. Big changes coming on Highway 101

The widening of Highway 101 is about to take some big leaps forward. –This week, weather permitting, Caltrans says, construction crews will begin the final paving of 101 from Rohnert Park Expressway to Petaluma Boulevard North, doing the work overnight to limit traffic delays. Update on Highway 101 project

If you’re tired of the uneven pavement on Highway 101 between Rohnert Park and Petaluma, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Caltrans spokesman Robert Haus says the final paving project is set to start June 4 and will take about four to six weeks to complete. That’s weather permitting. Rohnert Park road to be closed

Caltrans plans to shut Commerce Boulevard under Highway 101 in Rohnert Park on Friday night. The closure will be 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday to allow construction crews to remove falsework from a new overpass built over Commerce. The overpass is part of Caltrans’ project to widen Highway 101 to six lanes through Rohnert Park. Caltrans plans to close Commerce Boulevard under Highway 101 in Rohnert Park overnight Thursday and Friday as crews continue work on building an overpass there. Caltrans is shutting Commerce Boulevard under Highway 101 in Rohnert Park from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night this week through Friday night to allow construction crews to drill and pour eight, 100-foot piles for a new highway overpass. The work is part of project to widen 101 to six lanes through Rohnert Park. Caltrans had planned the work a couple of weeks ago but pushed it off.

Commerce Blvd. closed at night

Caltrans announced Wednesday afternoon that it is closing Commerce Boulevard under Highway 101 in Rohnert Park for overnight Wednesday and Thursday. The road will be blocked off from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Caltrans’ announcement didn’t say why, but a good guess is that construction crews are working on some aspect of the new highway overpass that is starting to be built over Commerce.
