SMART rail projects will force these scheduled road closures this week and next: –Third Street in Santa Rosa at the railroad tracks from Tuesday through Thursday. –Corona Road in Petaluma on Thursday at the tracks to repair work done last month. Traffic delays likely this week in Bennett Valley, Petaluma, on Highway 101

Here’s some road projects that may cause some traffic delays: –In Bennett Valley, if it doesn’t rain as some forecasts expect, the Sonoma County roads department on Monday plans to grind down Bennett Valley Road west of Sonoma Mountain Road and then repave it. SMART road closures in Petaluma

SMART rail work has shut Corona Road at the tracks for a couple of days. The closure, which started Tuesday, is expected to end around 6 p.m. Thursday. Then at 6 p.m. Friday, Ely Road is scheduled to be closed until about 9 p.m. Sunday. Next week, more Petaluma streets will be closed but final dates have yet to be ironed out. Mailbag: Ticket justified in construction zone during non-working hours?

Here’s a question from a Road Warrior reader: I received a traffic citation for driving 65 in a construction zone on 9/20/11 near Rohnert Park Expressway. As I recall there were not any posted signs, only traffic cones on the shoulder of the road. I did not see any equipment or personnel in the area at 11:40 p.m. when I was cited. Adobe Road work this week

The paving is done, but crews still will be on Adobe Road this week and perhaps next doing the finishing touches in the multi-week project. As a result, some traffic delays are possible because of one-way traffic controls. Adobe will be affected from Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove to Corona Road near Petaluma. Sonoma County is planning road work this week that will close Adobe Road at one stretch and cause traffic delays at another.
