Cinco de Mayo DUI crackdown

Police across Sonoma County on Saturday will be sending out extra officers targeting DUI drivers on Cinco de Mayo. The added enforcement, which begins at noon, is part of the county’s Avoid the 13 DUI Task Force in which all police agencies in the county belong to. DUI/license checkpoint in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa police on Friday night will be holding a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint. The checkpoint will be 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday and, as is usual, police declined to say where it would be. Officers typically arrest only a couple of DUI suspects out of the hundreds of drivers stopped at such checkpoints, but local police say the checkpoints help deter people from drinking and driving. DUI/license checkpoint Friday in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa police on Friday plan to hold a DUI/license checkpoint. The checkpoint, the location of which wasn’t being disclosed, will be from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday. DUI crackdown this St. Patrick’s weekend

Extra police officers will out on patrol this weekend looking for DUI drivers. DUI/license checkpoint Friday in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa police will be holding a DUI/license checkpoint  Friday night. Police wouldn’t reveal the location other than to say it will be on the east side of Santa Rosa from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday. DUI/license checkpoint Friday night in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa police plan a DUI/license checkpoint Friday night. The location isn’t being disclosed by police, but it will be 6 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting. Police Sgt. Lance Badger said in a statement that checkpoints are a proven tool in reducing the number of people killed and injured in alcohol-involved crashes. Are you speeding in the Hwy. 101 construction zone?

A pet peeve of many Road Warrior readers is speeding in the Highway 101 construction zone from Rohnert Park to Petaluma. CHP officers are on it. Lately in the evening, one or two officers have been standing along the shoulder of southbound 101 — behind K-rails — checking drivers’ speeds with their LIDAR  guns. Sonoma County’s anti-DUI task force wraps up its annual winter holiday crackdown this weekend with two DUI/license checkpoints. Going out drinking tonight? Maybe just a few glasses of wine over dinner? Beware. Sonoma County’s Avoid the 13 anti-DUI task force will be out in force Friday night looking for DUI suspects.
