The intersection at Highways 121 and 116 in Schellville has been a traffic congestion nightmare for both visitors and residents of Sonoma and Napa. However, motorists have few alternatives when trying to pass through that part of Wine Country.
This morning at approximately 10 a.m. Caltrans closed access to the intersection of State Route 12 and 121 due to flooding.
Caltrans has scheduled pavement repair on Highway 121, from the Napa County/Sonoma County line to Sonoma Green Acres/Scarafoni Road.
A flurry of new road projects join those already underway in Sonoma County this week. Watch for state crews to start extensive projects on Highways 12 and 121 in the Carneros region, and county crews to start repaving the final unimproved stretch of Petaluma Hill Road between Petaluma and Cotati.
