Santa Rosa gas prices fall a bit

There’s hope: Gas prices are slowly inching down in Santa Rosa and across the state, AAA reports. The average price for regular on Monday was $4.23 a gallon, down about a penny from the day before, down 5 cents from a week ago and down 10 cents from a month ago. But a year ago, gas was $4.154. I had to stop and look twice. Yep, gas for less than $4 a gallon in Santa Rosa. The Union 76 station at Mark West Springs Road and Old Redwood Highway in Larkfield, just north of Santa Rosa, is selling regular for $3.98 for cash, as of Saturday afternoon. That compares to, according to gasbuddy.com, $4.15 a gallon at Costco and various Arco stations in Santa Rosa, which typically have the lowest prices. Sonoma County plans to smooth out the bumps and holes along four roads this month through paving projects.
