Roads Report: Sonoma County projects, slurry sealing in Oakmont and a dangerous intersection

The intersection project at Mendocino Avenue and Bicentennial Way continues to cause daytime delays, as does work on the Porter Creek Road bridge. Last week Bean Avenue in Bodega Bay was paved as part of one-time County funding for road sections leading to parks – in this case Salmon Creek Beach. Rob Silva lists the Sonoma County road projects in progress this week. Also this week, streets in Fountaingrove and Oakmont will get slurry seals, and Santa Rosa police will give… Read More »

Santa Rosa motorcycle police officers this coming week will monitor the city’s most collision-prone intersection — Highway 12 at Mission Boulevard in Rincon Valley, where  last year 18 collisions occurred. More drivers trying to beat the red light

I’ve heard people joke that a green light means go, a yellow light means go faster and a red light means stop. But I don’t think it’s a joke any longer: More people seem to be trying to beat red lights and they’re stepping on the gas when the light turns yellow. Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Rich Celli says he hasn’t seen that as a general trend, although he does at times have officers stake out specific intersections where it’s… Read More »
