Adobe Road closed Saturday for SMART work and other cone zones

Road work continues throughout Sonoma County with very little new to report other than a one-day road closure in Penngrove and two one-day projects on small roads near the Geysers and northwest of Santa Rosa. Why does a turkey cross the road?

We’ve got the perfect environment for wild turkeys in Sonoma County, with enough open grasslands and rolling oak woodlands to support thousands. Montgomery Village intersection targeted by police

Santa Rosa motorcycle police officers this coming week will monitor one of the city’s most collision-prone intersections — Farmers Lane at Montgomery Drive, which last year was tied for seventh worst with seven collisions. As part of a weekly, Monday through Sunday, special enforcement program, Officer Jeff Adams says officers particularly will be looking for drivers not wearing seat belts, who are illegally using cellphones, are speeding, running red lights or committing lane violations. Construction project on Montgomery Drive

What construction project is planned for Montgomery Drive in Santa Rosa? Any day now, crews are to begin replacing sewer and water lines on the street between Farmers Lane and Talbot Avenue, said Jesus McKeag, assistant engineer for the city who is manager of the project. Here are Santa Rosa’s most dangerous intersections, based on the number of collisions at each in 2011 as reported by the Santa Rosa Police Department.
