You dug it up? You repair it

When utility companies or other contractors dig up the road, who’s responsible for repairing it once they’re done? They are, Sonoma County sources said. Brief closures of Highway 101 on Sunday

Caltrans’ continuing work on remodeling Petaluma’s East Washington Street interchange with Highway 101 will forced the complete closure of the freeway twice this Sunday. Each closure is scheduled to last 15 minutes, with the first starting at 6:15 a.m. and the second at 6:45 a.m., Caltrans said. The CHP will block both north and southbound lanes just north of East Washington. The closures will allow PG&E crews to pull new transmission lines across the highway. UPDATE: Chanate Road closed in Santa Rosa

Part of Chanate Road in Santa Rosa is expected to remain closed until late tonight because of a power pole knocked over in a car crash. Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Lance Badger said Chanate is closed from Jeremy Court, which is several blocks east of Parker Hill Road, to Montecito Avenue.
