County lists roads to be repaired, repaved in spring, summer

  About 50 miles of Sonoma County-maintained roads are on track to get some type of major repairs next spring and summer. The roads include 14 that got the headlines last week when the county Board of Supervisors approved $6.5 million for that work, but there are several more, including some that have needed help for years. Road projects this week in Sonoma, Mendocino counties

Here are road projects planned this week in our area: –Bodega Avenue. Sonoma County roads crews will grind out damaged pavement and then repave sections of the road, starting Monday between Spring Hill and Pepper roads. After finishing that stretch, the crews will move to between Pepper and Middle Two Rock roads. One-lane traffic controls with some traffic delays. –Drake Road in Guerneville. Sonoma County’s roads department plans some projects this week that likely will cause traffic delays: –Mirabel Road, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, crews will grind out damaged sections of the road between Nolan and River roads and then repave them. If you’re out driving this week, here are a few road work projects to be aware of because of likely traffic delays: –Highway 29′s “Tunnel of Elms” in St. Helena, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. It’s a key route between northern Santa Rosa and Calistoga. It’s bumpy, full of potholes but it’s about to be improved. Sonoma County roads crews will be out this week grinding out damaged sections of Porter Creek Road and repaving them. The Sonoma County roads department is doing work this week on a few key rural roads and warns of one-way traffic controls: –Leveroni Road, from Sonoma to Arnold Drive, today through Friday. –Porter Creek Road, at the Mark West Springs Quarry, for culvert installation through Thursday. –Westside Road, from River to Wohler roads, for brush cutting today.
