Here’s some road projects that may cause some traffic delays: –In Bennett Valley, if it doesn’t rain as some forecasts expect, the Sonoma County roads department on Monday plans to grind down Bennett Valley Road west of Sonoma Mountain Road and then repave it. Latest update on Highway 101, lane closures

For Highway 101 drivers, relief is almost here. Caltrans is continuing to do finishing work on the highway between Santa Rosa Avenue and Rohnert Park Expressway, and Caltrans spokesman Adam Priest says the third lane is expected to be open by the end of this month or early September. Highway 101 lane changes in Rohnert Park

Caltrans tonight will be shifting northbound Highway 101 lanes a bit to the west in Rohnert Park to allow crews to do paving work and such on the current lanes. The maneuver, which is suppose to happen late Friday night or early Saturday morning, is part of the project to widen 101 from Rohnert Park Expressway to Santa Rosa Avenue by adding a third lane in each direction. If you’re driving in Rohnert Park, you might want to avoid doing so from 2 to 4 p.m., watch out on Thursdays and be extra careful at Rohnert Park Expressway at Redwood and at State Farm drives. The latest traffic collision analysis, which covers July to December 2011, from the city’s Department of Public Safety shows that the number of collisions generally has dropped since 2004 in the last half of those years. The widening of Highway 101 is about to take some big leaps forward. –This week, weather permitting, Caltrans says, construction crews will begin the final paving of 101 from Rohnert Park Expressway to Petaluma Boulevard North, doing the work overnight to limit traffic delays.
