Here’s a question from a reader: I’m wondering if you can clarify the speed limit on Stony Point Road between Rohnert Park Expressway and Petaluma Blvd. North. Caltrans plans to open up Nov. 30 the extra north and southbound lanes on Highway 101 from Rohnert Park Expressway south to Petaluma Boulevard North, making 101 three lanes in each direction. The highway will remain only two lanes in each direction from Rohnert Park Expressway north to Santa Rosa Avenue, and that stretch is not expected to be widened until late 2012 because crews need to finish building the new Commerce Boulevard-Wilfred Avenue overpass. Caltrans plans pavement repairs Wednesday and Thursday nights in the Highway 101 construction zone between Santa Rosa Avenue and Rohnert Park Expressway. Driving through the Highway 101 construction zone just got easier in Rohnert Park. Caltrans, after concerns from the CHP and complaints from Road Warrior readers, again has realigned southbound 101 between Wilfred Avenue and Rohnert Park Expressway. In a seemingly never ending battle against potholes, Caltrans tonight will have Highway 101 down to one lane at times at various locations as crews repair the road. The work is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. Friday from Rohnert Park Expressway south to Pepper Road north of Petaluma.
Pothole repairs in the Highway 101 construction zone in Rohnert Park are slowing southbound traffic, starting around Highway 12 in Santa Rosa, the CHP reports. The work is the latest in a series of emergency pothole repairs that Caltrans has done this winter in the stretch of 101 where the road is being widened to three lanes in each direction.
