Santa Rosa Plaza intersection gets extra police attention

Santa Rosa motorcycle police officers this coming week will monitor one of the city’s most collision-prone intersections — Fifth Street at Morgan Street, adjacent to Santa Rosa Plaza, which last year was tied for seventh worst with seven collisions. Sonoma County’s top cop in DUI arrests

If you’re drinking and driving, Dan Hackett is looking for you. If he finds you, you’re going to jail. The 34-year-old Santa Rosa police officer was No. 1 last year among Sonoma County officers in the number of DUI arrests with 112. New road under Highway 101 in Santa Rosa

In 2005, Caltrans built the Highway 101 overpass at Sixth Street in Santa Rosa but never built the street under it. Now, Santa Rosa is going to. On Monday, construction crews will start a $1.1 million project to connect the two stretches of Sixth Street that end at the highway, with completion due in October.
