Mailbag: Where are the sidewalks? Can police ignore traffic laws?

Here are questions from Road Warrior readers: What happened to the sidewalks? Construction just finished on Shiloh Road west of Highway 101 in Windsor. They seem to have left pedestrians out during this recent construction. Caltrans adding stoplights to 2 Highway 101 offramps

Caltrans on Monday night begins work to add traffic lights on the southbound Highway 101 offramps for River and Shiloh roads, and both offramps will be closed At 7 p.m. Monday, construction crews will close the Shiloh offramp for two to three hours and then at 10 p.m. they’ll close the River Road offramp for two to three hours, both to allow the crews to do preparatory work, Caltrans said. Big changes for Windsor intersection

One of the busier intersections in Windsor is about to get easier for drivers to navigate. On April 16, work is to begin on a $3.84 million project to realign the intersection of Conde Lane and Shiloh Road and to widen part of Shiloh, with completion set for by late November. Update: Old Red work delayed; Westside Road project this week

Editor’s note: This story has been revised because Sonoma County officials this afternoon announced chip sealing of Old Redwood Highway has been delayed a week. —– Crews are suppose to start work Wednesday to prepare Old Redwood Highway from Shiloh Road in Windsor to Santa Rosa for chip sealing.
