Santa Rosa motorcycle police officers this coming week will monitor one of the city’s most collision-prone intersections — West Third Street at Stony Point Road, which last year was tied for sixth worst with eight collisions.

As part of a weekly, Monday through Sunday, special enforcement program, Officer Jeff Adams says officers particularly will be looking for drivers not wearing seat belts, who are illegally using cellphones, are speeding, running red lights or committing lane violations.

Each week, the officers pick one of the city’s top 25 collision-troubled intersections to monitor.

Well gee wiz, if the city would put some money into fixing the horrible road and fixing the lights so they work properly maybe there would be less red light runners.
