Some motorists are scratching their heads over the water drains in the center divider of 101 between Santa Rosa and Windsor. The drains sit about an inch higher than the pavement, so it’s no wonder when it’s rained that there’s some flooding. But Caltrans’ Robert Haus says all will be right and the drains will be the same level as the road once the final layer of asphalt is put down.

When that final paving will take place is uncertain but it’s probably weeks away. Right now, Haus says, most of the construction work on that stretch is in “winter suspension” and won’t start up until after a spell of warm, dry weather.
