Caltrans' simulation of what Highway 101 and its crossings will look like once construction is finished in a couple of years.

At 9 a.m. next Wednesday, May 5, crossing Rohnert Park is going to be harder for at least a couple of days when Caltrans shuts Commerce Boulevard under 101 because of the construction work that’s widening the highway.

Commerce is suppose to reopen at 4 p.m. Friday, May 7,  after crews demolish part of 101’s overpass there. But Caltrans warns Commerce may be closed overnight in the following days if the construction work needs it.

That means to get across Rohnert Park you’ll have to use Rohnert Park Expressway or head south to Cotati and use Highway 116.

Once Caltrans finishes widening 101 in Rohnert Park, there’ll be a new east-west crossing when Wilfred Avenue and Golf Course Drive get connected under new Highway 101 overpasses.
