Caltrans is going to try it again.

At 9 a.m. Monday, Caltrans plans to shuts Rohnert Park’s Commerce Boulevard under 101 as crews demolish part of the overpass there — it’s part of the highway widening project. This is the third time Caltrans has announced the closure; the first two tries were canceled.

Commerce is suppose to reopen at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Caltrans warns Commerce may be closed overnight in the following days if the construction work requires that.

That means to get across Rohnert Park you’ll have to use Rohnert Park Expressway or head south to Cotati and use Highway 116.

Once Caltrans finishes widening 101 in Rohnert Park, there’ll be a new east-west crossing when Wilfred Avenue and Golf Course Drive get connected under new Highway 101 overpasses.
