Going shopping today? Well, just a reminder that so is the CHP. And if you’re not careful, you may wind up spending more than you planned on Black Friday.

The CHP will be cracking down on speeders along Highway 12 between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol and along Highway 101, but exactly where wasn’t announced. The special enforcement is during the day.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said that in such speeding crackdowns an officer wields a LIDAR gun to check the speed of specific cars. If he finds someone speeding, he radios a description of the vehicle and its speed to other officers down the road who will pull over and ticket the offender.
