Continuing pothole problems in the Highway 101 construction zone in Rohnert Park is forcing Caltrans to close southbound 101 Tuesday night and detour traffic during repairs.

The CHP said that starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday the right southbound lane will be closed at Wilfred Avenue along with the southbound Wilfred Avenue on and offramps.

Then at 10 p.m., southbound 101 traffic will be detoured off onto the Wilfred Avenue offramp and then back onto 101 using the Wilfred onramp. Repair crews will be working on the roadway at Wilfred.

Southbound 101 is expected to reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday, the CHP said.

Pothole repairs in the Rohnert Park construction zone in the past two weeks have caused huge backups, with southbound traffic backing up for hours to nearly downtown Santa Rosa.
