You can expect lane closures on Highway 101 as Caltrans this Wednesday starts a $14 million project to grind and repave the road in Marin County from Highway 37 to the Terra Linda interchange.

During the week, crews will start at 7 p.m. for southbound lanes and 9 p.m. for northbound and will stop by 5 a.m. for southbound and 6 a.m. for northbound, Caltrans said. On and offramps also will be affected.

The project will last until September, but work will be suspended during the Marin County Fair during the Fourth of July.

Caltrans spokesman Bob Haus said no two consecutive on and off ramps will be closed at any time.

This summer, Caltrans also will break ground on widening 101 in Marin from Highway 37 north to about Atherton Avenue in Novato.
