Road work continues throughout Sonoma County with very little new to report other than a one-day road closure in Penngrove and two one-day projects on small roads near the Geysers and northwest of Santa Rosa. Here’s what to expect this week:

On Saturday, June 1, SMART crews will close the railroad crossing at Adobe Road in Penngrove from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. to smooth out the conforms of the crossing.

On Wednesday, May 29, the City of Santa Rosa has scheduled a consultant to survey a slide area on Pine Flat Road,  a slide area near the location of the city’s Geysers pipeline. The work involves equipment that will be drilling test holes. One lane traffic controls will be set up with only minor traffic delays expected.

On Thursday, May 30, an environmental consultant and a contractor are scheduled to do some clean-up work from a recent diesel spill on Laughlin Road at the Laughlin Road bridge south of Airport Blvd. One lane traffic controls will be in place during clean-up.

Also this week, contract work continues on the Porter Creek Road bridge at Franz Valley Road – intermittent one lane traffic controls Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.

Scheduled crack seal work on Bennett Valley Road was postponed due to rain and wet pavement but will resume Wednesday and Thursday east of Grange Road.

CDF crews are scheduled to assist with roadside brushing Tuesday and Wednesday along Bodega Highway west of Sebastopol and on Guerneville Road west of Laguna Road.

The county’s bridge crew will be installing guard rail on Willow Creek Road and completing backfill and tiebacks at a retaining wall repair on Geysers Road. Traffic will be stenciling stop bars in the Petaluma area. All other staff will be roadside mowing and filling potholes.

In Santa Rosa, expect night closures on around Montgomery Village throughout the week as Caltrans crews do utility repairs on Highway 12 between Sonoma Avenue and Montgomery Drive. Construction hours are 9 p.m.-5 p.m.

During the day, city crews are busy updating water and sewer systems on streets surrounding Montgomery Village through October. Expect delays 7 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.
