Caltrans crews will be in Alexander Valley this week, repaving Highway 128 between Geysers Road and Alexander Valley Road. They will work 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with one-lane closures between the Rockaway Creek Bridge and Geysers Road. From 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, one lane will be closed between Geysers Road and Alexander Valley Road.

Rohnert Park has begun maintenance work on Rohnert Park Expressway Overcrossing between Commerce Blvd. and Redwood Drive, a project that will continue through Oct. 31. The pavement will be seal coated 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with the northbound Highway 101 off-ramp closed. All other directions will have at least one lane open. Crews will return Oct. 23 and 24 to restripe the road.

North of Santa Rosa, Laughlin Road was closed again on Monday morning between River Road and North Laughlin Road due to a another big rig truck stuck on the Laughlin Bridge. City crews were dispatched to assess damages to the bridge, which has a wicked hair-pin curve just south of Mark West Creek.

In Bodega Bay, Doran Beach and Doran Beach Road closed Monday for a road reconstruction project expected to be finished by Oct. 25. The roads will receive full-depth reclamation with concrete, followed by a 2-inch asphalt overlay. Programmable message boards advising the public of the closure have been in place since Oct. 7. Crews will work around the clock on Doran Beach Road as the project must be completed inside the park within the existing time frame. Outside the park, on Doran Park Road off Hwy 1, work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. All public access, camping, boat launch and day use is prohibited during this project. Bodega Bay Lodge on Doran Park Road will remain open, and hotel guests will have access. The U.S. Coast Guard station will also remain open.

Near Forestville, A contractor will be soil boring off Wohler Bridge from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, with one-lane traffic controls along Wohler Road.

County road maintenance crews will continue work to remove the Vacation Beach summer crossing west of Guerneville, which closed Oct. 10.

County and Cal Fire crews are removing roadside vegetation and brush along Burnside and Vine Hill School roads Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Bridge crew is on schedule to complete its passage project at Purrington Creek on Graton Road west of Green Hill Road on Tuesday. One-lane traffic controls remain in effect 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Porter Creek Bridge Replacement Project, Porter Creek Rd at Franz Valley Rd. Bridge construction continues Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm daily. One lane traffic controls with up to 20 minute delays expected.

Calistoga Rd, Porter Creek Rd to Plum Ranch Rd – guard rail construction Monday – Friday, 7 am to 5 pm. One lane traffic controls up to 20 minute delays.

Arnold Dr at Agua Caliente Road Roundabout Project, center island construction Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm. The roundabout is open to traffic with minor delays due to center island construction. Large trucks are advised to use alternate routes.

Eastside Rd, north of Windsor River Rd to Wohler Rd – completion of asphalt overlay, driveway approach paving. One lane traffic controls with up to 20 minute delays, Monday through Friday 7 am to 5 pm.

Old Redwood Hwy, Petaluma to Cotati, guard rail construction Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm.  One lane traffic controls with up to 20 minute delays.

Striping contract: Road center line striping will be done on Tuesday along Armstrong Woods Rd in Guerneville and High School Rd north of Sebastopol. On Wednesday, Roberts Lake Rd north of Rohnert Park and Calistoga Rd.

Coming next week, 101 closures at Airport Blvd.

In October, Caltrans is planning full freeway closures of U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard in order to install falsework to begin construction of a new bridge. Falsework is a temporary structure that will support the components of a bridge during construction.

·        Southbound U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard will be closed Wednesday night, October 23, and Thursday night, October 24, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Exit on Shiloh Road and turn left. Continue to Old Redwood Highway and turn right. Turn right on Fulton Road and continue to the southbound U.S. 101 loop on-ramp. Note: Both the southbound U.S. 101 on-ramp and off-ramp will be closed during this construction activity..

·        Northbound U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard will be closed Friday night, October 25, and Saturday night, October 26, from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. Detour: Exit on Fulton Road and turn left to Old Redwood Highway. Turn left on Shiloh Road and continue to the Northbound U.S. 101 On-ramp. Note: the northbound loop on-ramp to Airport Boulevard will also be closed during this construction activity.
