Caltrans heard you. Or perhaps it’s just a coincidence.
But yesterday we warned readers about a dangerous stretch of worn pavement on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park, and several readers responded with comments and demands — “Caltrans, Fix the dog gone problem now!”
Now it is. Caltrans announced this morning that crews would be out this afternoon to fix that dangerous spot — and they did at about 2 p.m. It was in the southbound left lane just past the Wilfred Avenue offramp and was a short section of pavement that had worn away near the K-rail. If your left front tire dropped into it, the pavement jerked your car left toward the K-rail. Pretty scary.
Caltrans has struggled to repair potholes and worn pavement throughout the Rohnert Park-Cotati construction zone this winter, and the Wilfred Avenue spot had worsened with the last few storms.
